MRI Program Admissions Requirements and Technology Specifications at Pulse Radiology Institute
Admissions Requirements
You can apply to Pulse Radiology Institute at any point during the year. If we accept you, you can start in any term during that year or the following year. Here is what you need to get in.
Basic Requirements
- You must be at least eighteen years old.
- Complete an introductory meeting with an Admissions Representative to review the PRI Institutional Catalog.
- Pay the $100 non-refundable registration fee online via credit card, debit card, or e-check.
- Complete the financial overview with the Director of Student Accounts and Finance to review payment schedules and financial responsibilities.
- Review and sign the PRI Enrollment Agreement.
- Submit Official Proof of Graduation from High School or GED. Official high school transcript or GED is required. Proof of an advanced degree such as an Associate’s or Bachelor’s is not applicable documentation to prove high school completion.
- For applicants who are U.S. residents who completed the High School Diploma in a foreign country, an interview with the Director of Admissions is required. The interview seeks to determine if the applicant is fit for the mission of the institution. After completing the interview, the Director of Admissions will make its decision and notify the applicant.
- The institution requires any student applying for admissions with a foreign high school transcript to have it translated and evaluated by one of the certified established clearing houses for translated and evaluated transcripts. The evaluation must state that the diploma is equivalent to a U.S. High School Diploma. This evaluation must be in place prior to the student enrollment.
- Official Transcripts can be mailed directly to Pulse Radiology Institute at the following address: 175 Hampton Point Drive, Suite 4, Saint Augustine, Florida 32092.
- Complete and clear a background check.
- Provide proof of immunization and medical records.
- It is the right of each individual clinical affiliate to require additional documents or certifications including but not limited to BLS certification, individual health insurance, COVID vaccination and boosters, drug screening, and similar requirements. Any additional requirements will be the responsibility of the student.
- Complete an online recorded interview before enrollment.
- Pay the $5,000 down payment for the PRI Associates Degree MRI Program.
English Language Proficiency Assessment
Prospective students whose native language is not English and who have not earned a degree from an appropriately accredited institution where English is the principal language of instruction must demonstrate college-level proficiency in English through one of the following for admission:
Undergraduate Degree: A minimum total score of 57 on the paper-delivered Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL PBT), or 61 on the Internet Based Test (iBT)
- 6.0 on the International English Language Test (IELTS)
- 44 on the Pearson Test of English Academic Score Report
- 95 on the Duolingo English Test or 53 on the 4-skill Michigan English Test (MET), or 650/LP on the Michigan Examination for the Certificate of Competency in English (ECCE), or 650/LP on the Michigan Examination for the Certificate of Proficiency in English (ECPE)
- A high school diploma completed at an accredited or recognized high school where the medium of instruction is English
- A minimum score on the College Board Accuplacer ESL Exam Series as follows: ESL Language Use score of 85, ESL Listening score of 80, ESL Reading score of 85, ESL Sentence Meaning score of 90, ESL Writeplacer score of 4, and a Comprehensive Score for all exams of 350
- A transcript indicating completion of at least 30 semester credit hours with an average grade of C or higher at an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Secretary of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or accepted foreign equivalent that is listed in the International Handbook of Universities where the language of instruction was English
- Currently working in the United States at a position where the individual is required to speak English proficiently in order to interact with the public
- Transcripts not in English must be evaluated by an appropriate third party and translated into English or evaluated by a trained transcript evaluator fluent in the language on the transcript. In this case, the evaluator must have expertise in the educational practices of the country of origin and include an English translation of the review.
Technology Requirements
Our program is delivered online through the Canvas learning platform, so you need a computer setup that can handle video lectures, simulation software, and proctored exams. Here is what you need.
Computer Specifications
- Your computer should be no more than 5 years old.
- A functional mouse is required. Wireless mice are acceptable.
Operating Systems
- Mac OS 11 or higher
- Windows 8.1, 10, or higher
- Linux and Chrome OS are not supported for testing on Canvas. Tablets and phones are also incompatible.
Hardware
- Memory: Minimum of 8 GB RAM. 16 GB is recommended for optimal performance.
- Graphics: Your computer should include a graphics card supporting WebGL. You can test compatibility at get.webgl.org.
- Processor: Intel Quad-core 1.8 GHz or AMD Quad-core 2.0 GHz.
- Disk Space: Minimum of 50 GB free disk space.
Software Requirements
- Productivity Tools: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (2007 or higher) and Adobe Reader (10.0 or higher).
- Web Browsers: Firefox 3.0 or higher, Internet Explorer 11.0 or higher, Safari 4.0 or higher, or Chrome. Note that Microsoft Edge is not supported on macOS.
Internet Requirements
- High-speed internet with upload and download speeds of 50 Mbps or higher is recommended. You can check your speed at speedtest.net.
Web Camera and Microphone
- An embedded webcam in your laptop or a standard webcam manufactured within the last 5 years is required.
- The camera must be positioned directly in front of you for proctoring purposes. Side or unattached cameras are not permitted.
- A functional microphone is required.
- 3D webcams are not supported at this time.
Additional Guidelines
- Use of multiple monitors is not allowed during proctored exams.

Transfer Credit Policy
Pulse Radiology Institute will not accept credits from another program from another postsecondary institution. Students will enroll from the beginning of a course or program. The transferability of credits you earn at Pulse Radiology Institute is at the complete discretion of the institution to which you may seek to transfer. Acceptance of the credits you earn in the educational program from Pulse Radiology Institute is also at the complete discretion of the institution to which you may seek to transfer. If the credits that you earn at this institution are not accepted at the institution to which you seek to transfer, you may be required to repeat some or all of your coursework at that institution. For this reason, you should make certain that your attendance at this institution will meet your educational goals. This may include contacting an institution to which you may seek to transfer after attending Pulse Radiology Institute to determine if your credits will transfer.
